Design 1 ( Card Model )

Basically, the entry point of the model is composed by a long and narrow corridor which gives a sense of mystery. As one reaches the end of the corridor, you are greeted by a large open area which is used for public purpose - dining and kitchen. This area is surrounded by timber slats which allows sunlight to stream through and creates a tranquil and warm atmosphere. Private places such as bathroom and bedroom are found at ground floor. I decided to make an rectangular opening on the wall facade so that my client can have a view to his surroundings from his bedroom. Furthermore, a long horizontal slit glazing is located at the edge on one of the bathroom's walls in order to provide good ventilation and lighting. Walking up through the vertical tower with staircase, it provides access to first floor where it is used as a living area and studio. A roof with translucent glazing is constructed for the tower so that not much excessive sunlight can filter in. Since my client enjoys watching the sky, I decided to make a skylight at the top of the studio and living area, not only to give a large degree of transparency for the space but also to remind my client of his old days.
